Our practice is very patient focused and so we offer IV sedation to help eliminate anxiety and stress for those patients that feel this way. This allows the patient to overcome their fears of having any dental treatment carried out at the surgery.
IV sedation is intravenous sedation (injection) that is used to effectively treat the most nervous of patients. The dental treatment can still be carried out easily as the drugs have a relaxing and calming effect without preventing communication between the dentist and the patient.
Patients whom feel nervous about having a range of treatments such as fillings, extractions, scale and polish and root canals could benefit from IV sedation. If the patient has a bad gag reflex or difficulty sitting in a dental chair for long periods then IV sedation will help that as well. IV sedation would eliminate the patient’s anxiety and pain leaving them feeling comfortable and unaware of the sights, smells and sounds of the dental surgery room.
Dr Khan and Dr Chawich are the dentists at our Bexleyheath practice whom can treat patients under IV sedation. Please call our surgery if you would like to book in for a consultation or if you have any other questions.
